Yamaha YAS-209 Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer
The Yamaha YAS-209 soundbar has a decent built quality with controls on the top of soundbar. The front and one side of the soundbar is covered by a mesh-like fabric and the top and bottom are made of plastic. The design of the soundbar is simple and the inputs are placed on the top and back. It is 37 inches approx wide and 2.5 inches tall, while the subwoofer is like a large box that houses the 6.5 inches woofer. On the top of the soundbar there is a small display to let you know which settings you are on.
The subwoofer is made of melamine. Mesh fabric is used to cover the front and one of the sides of the soundbar. The subwoofer has a pairing button on its back and it can be connected with the soundbar wirelessly. You can place the wireless subwoofer anywhere in the room.
The remote of the soundbar is larger than normal, and its back is nicely curved. Due to the small size of the LED display, the remote is one of the key methods of communicating with the sound bar. The set of the buttons is extensive and simple to use.
The Yamaha YAS-209 has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. There’s a built-in Alexa voice control in the soundbar, and so you can connect your phone or tablet for playing music from your favourite apps, listen to news, set alarm and timers, ask questions, control smart home devices and more. The soundbar does not have the support for Google Chromecast or Apple AirPlay. The streaming services that the Yamaha YAS-209 support are Amazon Music, Kindle, Spotify, Audible, Pandora, Deezer, TuneIn, iHeart Radio and SiriusXM.
The Yamaha YAS-209 has an Optital Audio In for TVs, HDMI in and HDMI ARC out to connect BLU-ray players or Gaming consoles if you want. There is also an ethernet port and a USB slot for updates. The soundbar lacks 3.5mm audio jack. The soundbar supports both Dolby Digital and DTS.
